Why Static Web?

In the beginning, Sir Tim Berners-Lee created WWW and HTML.

You know, Internet wasn't always like this. This was texts, images, a small zip file or two. Life was simple, and so was the Internet.

I always wanted to serve my own homepage since 11 years old. My first attempt was Windows Paint and Frontpage Express, and it didn't ended up well. There were no Internet in my house, and I had no idea how WWW works.

After that, for over 25 years, I was still insatiable one. Blog, SNS, SPA, all have quirks that makes me to abandon it eventually.

And then I stumbled upon NoCSS club. There are not a lot of pages, but when I browsed through it, I felt - This is it. Back to basic. That is what I had to do.

Therefore this page has been born.

Isn't it cumbersome to maintain?

Yes. Yes it is.

But since I don't have to consider forms that much, I became able to focus more on content itself.

It's like taking picture using old fashioned film camera. You have to adjust everything on your own, and once you press shutter release, there are no turning back. Building web page solely on HTML is similar. You have to code everything by hand, and once you published it, it's bit hard to change it.

However, it surely makes the result more precious. Every picture you have taken, every page you have written, all of them holds meaning.

And that is the best part.
